Welcome!

On August 20, 2011, more than a decade ago, Marc Andreessen said that “software is eating the world”. We believe that software is still eating the world and is a key driver of all innovations. Basic understanding of software is as elemental as algebra, calculus, and statistics. We are witnessing a renaissance of software engineering and hope you can join us on this journey.

This website is a resource for UMBC’s current and future Graduate Software Engineering students. It provides a central hub for information including required and elective courses, pathways, planned courses, research opportunities, and important university resources. Please bookmark, read all pages relevant to you, and visit often. Note that the official program website is https://professionalprograms.umbc.edu/software-engineering/.
